Escarpment Garden

The brief was to stop irrigating a thirsty lawn on a steep escarpment bank. We rebuilt the path line, kept the shade, and planted a forest-edge community — tree fern, clivia, wild banana — so the garden belongs to the mist belt. It is at its best after rain, when the greens go almost black.
