Stone terrace and lush Lowveld garden looking toward the escarpment

Landscape studio · Nelspruit

Gardens made to be lived in.

Design, planting, stone, and outdoor rooms for Nelspruit and the Lowveld — drawn for heat, rain, and the long table.

The studio

Outdoor rooms that belong to the land they sit on.

Lowveld Bloomscape is a landscape studio in Nelspruit. We design gardens as architecture: terraces you cook on, courts you sit in, slopes planted for subtropical heat rather than against it.

One team draws the plan and builds it — stone, water, planting, and light — so the garden that arrives is the garden you were shown.

What we do

From first sketch to the last plant.

Design through build, with a care calendar after. Most clients come for a terrace and stay for the planting.

All services
  1. 01

    Garden design

Master plans, planting palettes, and outdoor rooms drawn for heat, summer storm, and the light of your site.

  2. 02

    Subtropical planting

Cycads, clivias, tree ferns, and indigenous forest-edge plants composed for colour, shade, and a garden that can live through a Lowveld summer.

  3. 03

    Outdoor living

Terraces, shade, kitchens, and fire — rooms without walls, built to be used every week.

  4. 04

    Stone, water & hardscape

Sandstone courts, rills, and dark-lined pools cut to the site.

  5. 05

    Lighting & irrigation

Night gardens you can walk, and irrigation that wastes nothing.

  6. 06

    Seasonal care

A tending programme for gardens we have built — pruning, feeding, and the slow work of looking after a place.

How we work

Four steps, one crew.

  1. 01

    Walk the ground

A first visit on site. We look at slope, trees, storm water, and how you live — then send a short note on what we would do, and what it might cost.

  2. 02

    Draw the garden

Layout, levels, materials, and a planting plan. You see the rooms before a stone is lifted. Revisions are part of the fee.

  3. 03

    Build

Our crew, our trades. Stone, water, planting, and lighting installed as one job — not a relay of contractors who have never met.

  4. 04

    Tend

A care calendar for the first two years, then as little or as much as you want. Gardens are finished slowly.

Clients

They treated the garden as architecture, not decoration. A year on, it still feels as if it has always been here.
